However, it is important to know the occasions in which this withdrawal is permitted, in addition to understanding the difference between the current modalities.

And that is exactly what we will talk about in today's content, so to find out how to access your money, come with us!

What are the possibilities for FGTS withdrawals?

The FGTS is one of the main labor benefits, intended for workers registered under the CLT regime.

It works as a type of financial guarantee, which aims to protect the worker in cases of need.

Therefore, the release of the FGTS withdrawal only occurs in some specific occasions, being

these:

  • Dismissal without just cause by decision of the employer;
  • Retirement;
  • Purchase of own property;
  • Extraordinary withdrawals, released by the Government.
  • Among other occasions.

Therefore, it is important to keep an eye out for withdrawal opportunities, as this amount can help in times of need.

Termination withdrawal X Anniversary withdrawal: understand the differences

Previously we saw the possibilities of regular FGTS withdrawals, but it is important to understand that there are two main ways of withdrawing the benefit.

These modalities are the Withdrawal-termination and the Anniversary withdrawal, and it is the worker who decides which one he wants to withdraw his values from.

The withdrawal-termination is the most traditional, in which the release of amounts occurs preferably in the event of termination of an employment contract, without just cause.

The Anniversary Withdrawal is a relatively new option, which guarantees the withdrawal of 30% of the account amounts once a year, in the month of the holder's birthday.

It is important to say that joining one of the modalities automatically interrupts the possibility of withdrawing through the other, so it is worth making a conscious choice, considering the pros and cons of each one.

Check the procedure for withdrawing funds

Now that you know all the possibilities for FGTS withdrawals, all that's left is to talk about the withdrawal procedure itself.

To withdraw FGTS you have a few options, the first being to go to a Caixa Econômica Federal branch.

However, if you are looking for practicality, the FGTS app may be the ideal solution, since it allows you to do everything from releasing funds to transferring them to an account.

To do this, start by downloading the app and log in using your CPF.

Then, look for the “Withdrawals” tab and select the reason why you want to withdraw the amounts.

Once this is done, select the destination account to which the withdrawal amounts will be sent.

In a few hours the funds will be in your account, and you will be able to use them as you need!
