What are the program's conditionalities?
To the conditionalities of Bolsa Família are the commitments that beneficiary families must fulfill to continue receiving the benefit.
They mainly refer to the areas of health and education, and aim to strengthen these families' access to their basic social rights.
For example, in the health area, children under 7 years of age must follow the vaccination schedule and have their nutritional status (weight and height) monitored.
Pregnant women should undergo prenatal care and women between 14 and 44 years old should be weighed.
In the area of education, children and adolescents must have a minimum school attendance rate, as follows:
- 4 to 5 years: 60%
- 6 to 15 years: 85%
- 16 and 17 years old: 75%
If the family is unable to meet the conditions, they should contact the Bolsa Família or Social Assistance (CRAS) department in their city and explain the situation.
They will be able to assist you and prevent the benefit from being blocked, suspended or cancelled. The family can also provide justifications for non-compliance, such as medical certificates or school documents.
Another very important requirement that prevents the benefit from being cancelled is updating registration data.
Whenever there is a change in your registration data, you must go to CRAS to update it. If not, the mandatory update must take place every 24 months.
To know Who is entitled to Bolsa Família? It is very important to avoid cancellation of the benefit.
Therefore, see below what the requirements are to be included in this program.
Who is entitled to Bolsa Família?
Everyone knows that the benefit is intended for families living in poverty and extreme poverty. To identify these families, the government has set a ceiling on per capita income.
In other words, the per capita income of Bolsa Família in 2013 is a maximum of R$218.00.
For those who don't know, per capita income is the same as income per head, that is, per family member.
By adding up the family's total income and then dividing it by each member, we find the per capita income.
To make it clearer, look at the example in the next paragraphs.
The total income of Mrs. Ana's family is R$$600.00, and the family is made up of 3 members.
So, to find out who is entitled to Bolsa Família, or rather, if the family is entitled to the benefit, simply divide the value of R$600.00 by 3.
The result is: R$200.00.
The per capita income of Mrs. Ana's family is R$200.00, which means that this family is entitled to the benefit, since the income per member does not exceed the ceiling of R$218.00 stipulated by the government.
In addition, families must be registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (Single Cad), with correct and updated data.
If you do not know where the CRAS office is in your city, go to your city hall and find out.
Generally, it is necessary to schedule the appointment. When scheduling, you will be informed of the list of documents required to bring to the appointment.
It is important to highlight that the family will not receive the benefit as soon as they register with CadÚnico.
The selection period may vary, according to the government, there is no fixed period, it may vary according to different factors, such as, for example, municipal demand and waiting list.
In some municipalities, selection can take place between 1 and 3 months, but in other cases, this period may take longer.
In addition, family composition also has an influence, with single-person families not having as much priority compared to families with children.
