See if this situation sounds familiar: you need credit to make a purchase and you have a credit card available, but the limit is low and insufficient for what you need. You've tried other banks, but the limit isn't much better. Why does this happen?

In reality, there are several factors that influence financial institutions to release more or less credit to each person. These factors are directly linked to whether the market sees you as a good or bad payer.

According to Serasa, the limit of credit card of each user is defined by banks and financial institutions based on certain criteria, such as personal income, payment capacity and income commitment.

How to get more credit on your credit card?

It is important to know that, as the bank identifies that a customer is a good payer, it automatically evaluates their credit card limit and may increase it. However, to do this, there are some good practices that users can adopt to be noticed by the institutions:

Make payments on time

Customers who are late paying their credit card bills or who do not pay in full are frowned upon by the bank. Therefore, plan your finances to always pay off your debt before the due date. If it makes things easier, you can also schedule your payment to be made via direct debit.

Update your income

When you apply for a new credit card, the financial institution usually asks you how much you earn each month, right? If your income increases over time, you should tell the bank. This way, they will see that your purchasing power has also increased.

Spend close to the limit

Yes, using most of your credit card limit, or at least a little over half, can contribute to an increase in your credit limit. This signals to the bank that you have the potential to incur higher costs if you had more credit.

I can't recommend a card with a high limit X or Y, since each credit card has a different way of analyzing its customers. In other words, there are different limits, and the same card may offer a high value to one customer and a low value to another.

3 credit cards with high limits

We've already said that the limit that the bank will provide to a user depends on each person's financial health, right? Even so, we'll list three credit card options below that usually pre-approve interesting limits. In addition, you can use the tips above to increase the limit over time. See the options:

Banco Inter

Banco Inter offers a Mastercard Multiple card, which is international and has no annual fee! To apply, you need to open an account with the bank and request a credit analysis to have the credit option — the debit option is already automatically authorized for everyone.

Inter also has one of the lowest revolving rates among fintechs: 7.7% per month.

Santander Free

The Santander SX card is the bank's former Free card. Its main advantage is that you are exempt from the annual fee when you spend R$$100 per month on purchases or by registering your CPF or cell phone as Pix keys with the institution.

It is worth noting that if you make a purchase of R$1,000 and pay in 10 installments, you will not pay the card's annual fee for the next 10 months.

Have you requested your card and it hasn't arrived yet? You can make purchases online with your online card.

The card is issued by Visa. Santander customers who purchase this card receive discounts from various Esferas partners. They also participate in the Vai de Visa program.

If you don't have a Santander bank account, you can still apply for the card. To do so, you must have a minimum income of one minimum wage. For bank customers, the income is R$$500.

Nubank

Nubank is one of the best-known digital banks and has one of the most sought-after credit cards as well. Although other banks also have them, “Roxinho” became popular thanks to its ease of handling banking matters, controlling everything directly through the app, including 24-hour customer service chat.

In addition to being free, it is possible to get discounts on your bill by paying installments in advance. Find out more here.

Now that you've finished reading, you should understand that a credit card with a high limit depends on several factors. But basically, paying off your debts and maintaining a high score are enough to achieve this.
